Review Samsung R610

Review Samsung R610 |
The Samsung R610 is a new notebook by Samsung that blurs the gap between portable laptops and notebooks multimedia offering great performance. The price is absolutely right about $ 1000 and provides e good combination of portability, multimedia capabilities and decent performance. It is one of the most stylish laptops with a palette of bright colors, red and black cool and nice build quality.

f you want a portable laptop but do not want to buy a netbook that skimps on screen real estate, which is probably a good deal for you. It competes with the Acer Aspire 6930 and HP Pavilion HDX 16, which we reviewed a while back. In this review we check the Samsung R610 and check its features, design, performance and see if it eliminates a good deal

design and quality:

The Samsung R610 sports a pretty stylish glossy design consisting primarily of black and red. The design is clean and has a nice attractive finish. The glossy black lid, black interior with red gradient finish to the front edge, and LED status indicators to the left all combine to give the laptop a very nice look. At dimensions of 14.9 x 10.4 x 1.5 inches, it is easily one of the slimmest 16-inch laptops in this range. It weighs only about 6 lbs, which is still an achievement for a 16-inch laptop.

The build quality is superb and the chassis is sturdy and solid. The laptop is made primarily of metal and plastic. From the looks of it, it should easily last 3-4 years and more pssibly with normal use
Display and speakers :.

The Samsung R610 sports a 16-inch LCD with a native resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. The resolution is good, but much less compared to the expected resolution Full HD 1920 x 1080 pixels you would normally expect from a 16-inch screen. The display quality is nice and the brightness is quite good, while contrast levels are correct. The viewing angles are nice, both vertically and horizontally and the glossy screen has decent viewing even in direct sunlight. The video playback quality is quite good, but the low resolution means you can not see movies in HD. Other than the low resolution, there is not much to complain about the display. Just above the display you will find a 1.3 MP who has decent image and video capture quality. It should do for occasional video conferencing.

The speakers of the Samsung R610 are quite strong but lacking in quality, we definitely recommend the use of a nice pair of headphones if you take your music seriously.

Keyboard and Touchpad:

The Samsung R610 features a full keyboard with numeric keypad, like other notebooks of its size. The keys feel nice and spacig and adequate travel. They also offer decent feedback with a distinct click. The keyboard is superb and suitable for you if you are a touch typist.

The touchpad is located just below the keyboard and offers a good grip with an adequate response. It also has optimal sensitivity making it easy to navigate around your office. The two mouse buttons below the touchpad can be easily pressed, overall, no major problems of the keyboard and touchpad. Note that the Samsung R610 does touch controls sensitive media sport despite being positioned as a multimedia notebook
Performance:

The Samsung R610 sports a not so cool configuration - 2.0 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T5800, 3GB DDR2 RAM with the graphics department managed by Nvidia 9200 GS 512 MB M. The specifications look a little bland compared to most new laptops, but maybe this is how they were able to keep prices down. It can run on Windows Vista easily and does well in multitasking multiple applications. It sports a 5400 RPM HDD GB which 250 has decent data transfer speeds. You should be able to do a little light casual games on this machine, but do not expect relatively underpowered 9200 M GS for you to frag bots in Crysis in full glory. Overall, the R610 offers an average performance, a little less than its competitors - the Acer Aspire 6930G and the HP Pavilion HDX 16.
The battery life and other characteristics:

The Samsung R610 comes with a 6 cell battery that lasts about 2 hours and 30 minutes on a full charge with moderate use. To increase the life of the battery, the clock down your system volume, reduce the screen brightness and turn off Wi-Fi when not in use. You can easily manage about 3 hours then. These figures are correct relative to the average of the class, which is about 2 hours and 20 minutes. If you want more stamina, you can get the optional 9-cell battery which should give you about 6 hours of juice.

The Samsung R610 has recpetion speeds and transfer nice Wi-Fi data. It also has a wide range of expansion ports and slots - 4 USB 2.0 ports, Ethernet, HDMI, VGA, headphone and microphone jacks, Modem, 3 in 1 card reader, Expresscard and a Kensington Lock slot
More: [

* Nice design
* Good keyboard

Less:

* Low Life Battery
* Bad sound quality
* relative configuration expired

final Words:

The Samsung R610 is a nice notebook with a stylish, lightweight and portable form factor and decent performance. There are better options in the R610 as the Acer Aspire 6930 and HP Pavilion HDX 16. If you're looking for a portable laptop instead of a netbook cramped then this is a good option. But he did not exactly excel at multimedia playback, it should consider that it is positioned in this segment. It also has a hardware more than in most new laptops. There is not much going for it except the design and portability.
