HP announces pricing and release date for its new smartphone that isn’t a smartphone

HP Elite x3 Release Date

Listen, let's be perfectly frank: there there is almost no reason to exist for Windows Phone at this stage. Oh, sorry, it is called Windows 10 Mobile now. Whatever you want to call it - Windows Phone 7 Series, Windows Phone, Windows Mobile or Windows 10 Mobile - this is not what needs or wants at the moment the world. Microsoft had an excellent opportunity to create a third mobile platform, but it was just a little too slow. Instead, Android and iOS took off and Windows Phone has become a barren desert. Smartphones are all about connections and with Windows Phone, you can not connect to other people as efficiently (or at all, sometimes) because the developers never really embraced the platform.

But if there is a Windows 10 mobile device on it that has a certain appeal, it is the HP Elite x3. And now, HP has finally released pricing and availability information

Back in February we gave you a look at the hands x3 HP Elite, a smartphone that is not really a smartphone at all. Instead, it is a hybrid device that pulls triple duty as a phone, a laptop and a desktop computer.

Continuum Microsoft solution in Windows 10 allows the experience, and the phone is actually powerful enough to provide a solid background in the three scenarios. The device is an elegant and powerful phablet on its own, but it connects to a laptop or desktop dock accessories to provide the brains and braun behind these screens.

Now, HP has finally confirmed a release date and price for its new smart hybrid device.

HP said in an email on Monday that the new x3 HP Elite will ship August 29 for $ 699. This price is more than acceptable for this phablet peak with 64GB of memory and killer specifications. A $ 799 bundle will include the Dock Office, which connects to any monitor and allows you to use the x3 as a desktop PC.

We look forward to spending more time with the new HP Elite x3, which clearly provides an intriguing proposal. It is aimed squarely at companies where IT managers will love the prospect of managing a device instead of three, but we fear that the phone will run into the same wall all Windows Phone faces: Nobody wants Windows on his phone.

More details on the launch of Elite x3 will be published shortly on the HP website.
