Apple released iOS 10 beta 2 on Tuesday, which brings many improvements and fixes as well as a number of tweaks that were not available in the first beta release. Among them, however, there’s one new feature in particular that you should know about, and use as soon as possible to fix your entire iPhone experience.

In iOS 10, Apple is going to replace its iconic “slide to unlock” gesture with something that sounds really dumb, “press to unlock.” In the first iOS 10 beta, even after the Touch ID login was complete you still had to press the button to unlock the phone, as seen in the animation above. Thankfully, Apple “fixed” the issue in its latest release.

From the looks of it, “press to unlock” is going to be the default iPhone unlock feature in iOS 10. To enable the “old” gesture, you have to go to the Settings app, then Accessibility, and then Home Button. In there, you’ll find a toggle for Rest Finger to Unlock, which you’ll have to enable to restore your regular iPhone unlocking experience.

We already explained why the slide-to-unlock is going away – read this post to find out. To try on iOS 10 beta 2 without a developer account, you need to follow the instructions here, while the video at this link will show you all the best new features in iOS 10 beta 2, complete with the home button unlock fix noted above.
