days, Corning announced-next gen Gorilla Glass screen 5 that will protect the screens of some Android flagships top coming in during the next year. The Galaxy Note iPhone 5 and 7 may be two of the first devices to get the ultra-resistant glass cover. But if the iPhone of the future came with an artificial diamond display lid that was even stronger than Gorilla Glass?

Damaging the screen due to accidental falls is one of the most annoying things that can happen to a smartphone. Hopefully, Gorilla Glass 5 (photo above) will help avoid more efficiently than the glass of the previous generation cracks. But Corning is not the only company working on this technology.
Akhan Semiconductor is a name you need to remember. According to Mashable , the company figured how to create the diamond reinforced glass, with the help of synthetic diamonds. Akhan managed to apply a "synthetic diamond film nanometers thin," or Akhan Miraj NCD diamond on a standard UV glass. The resulting material is said to be "significantly stronger" than Gorilla Glass 5.
without the insistence of Steve Jobs, the original iPhone may not have presented a glass screen while to start, and Corning would not have been pushed to came up with a workable product in time for launch. Apple is at the forefront of the market, in particular as regards product quality, so it would be logical for the company to be interesting in this new technology.
Time will tell if the iPhone next year Corning discharge for this revolutionary new technology. After all, there is not so long, Apple wanted to protect the iPhone with sapphire crystal.
Akhan Miraj NCD coated glass diamond is 800 times thinner than Gorilla Glass 5, and may be stronger than sapphire. Even more impressive is the fact that the diamond glass is cheaper to mass produce than sapphire and can be made much faster. Other properties of this new material include flexibility (up to 45 degrees), which would play well with the supposed Apple plans to make an iPhone with a wraparound screen. In addition, diamond-coated screen has a low thermal conductivity, which means that screens could be kept even cooler.
Akhan will be able to produce diamond-wide glass in a year, but the company could partner with Corning to a license agreement. The demonstration units built Akhan Corning glass used as a substrate.
